Update on ASIC Authorised Representative Register Executive Summary ASIC is making changes to the ASIC register of Authorised Representatives that will take effect from 3 March 2015 and will affect all Australian Financial Services licensees. The changes will affect the way licensees appoint and update details for their authorised representatives (including those that are not financial advisers – see separate update on the new Financial Adviser’s register requirements). The forms currently used in the AFS licensee and AFS authorised representative portal will be replaced by new transactions available in the ASIC Connect online portal which is available via ASIC’s website. The purpose of the changes is to allow for more streamlined online lodgement and payment processes. The Government’s also intends to change the way fees are charged for notifications to the ASIC authorised representatives register. They are to be increased. There will be a transition period from 3 March 2015 to 30 September 2015 as the new registers are established. Licensees will in most cases need to create an ASIC connect account by 9 March 2015.
